REPUTATION

A Green Future

The European Union has launched the Green Deal, an ambitious initiative with a clear goal: to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. At Cermer, we are conscious about ecology and the environment at every stage of the process. We believe our values on sustainability and eco-friendly products are aligned with the Green Deal strategy.

The fight against pollution

The European Union is drawing up a concrete action plan to prevent air, water and soil pollution. This appears in response to the growing need to restore surface water and groundwater natural functions. Reducing harmful microplastics and excess nutrients in the environment are other key points of the action plan. It is clear that the food-packaging sector has a tremendous responsibility to be respectful towards the environment. In this sense, our containers are a good solution to prevent earth pollution. Cermer ceramic containers are made of clay, an abundant and natural raw material that does not contain toxic substances to air, soil or water. The inertness of Cermer pots also makes them harmless for natural sources or living beings like animals and plants.
A Green Future

The use of ceramics as packaging does not pollute the air, water or soil.

Our international standard ISO 14001 certification demonstrates our commitment to protecting the environment. At Cermer, we take maximum care in each step of the production process to minimize any negative impact on our environment's biodiversity and avoid industrial waste. Our quarry uses rainwater during the clay extraction process to avoid the raising of dust. Once the clay has been extracted in previously delimited areas, land is regenerated by planting vegetation or crops suitable to the soil. In addition, we recover the leftovers of clay, reintroducing it back into the manufacturing process, reducing the creation of waste in our facilities.
A Green Future

In all processes, from the extraction of clay to the preparation of our pots, we have the utmost respect for the environment.

Avoiding the generation of waste

Ceramic containers help to avoid the generation of packaging waste as they are designed to be reused. It delivers a strong message against a throwaway culture. Between 75% and 95% of consumers save these containers for later use as tableware or kitchenware. Under the motto "reusing comes before recycling" the possibilities of integrating our containers into the home kitchen are endless. Cermer's ramekins, dishes and jars are suitable to serve any type of recipe, from appetizers to the most sophisticated desserts. Why not use them as containers to store spices, honey, dips and sauces? Our colorful collections can be combined to set tables for any occasion, from a romantic breakfast to a relaxed dinner with friends and family. Our ceramic containers are especially designed to be freezer, oven and microwave safe.

The most effective way to avoid waste is to reuse a product designed to last over time.

From farm to table

To meet the Green Deal's objectives, developing a fair, healthy and environmentally friendly food system is essential. There is no doubt that the objectives of the Green Deal are a significant challenge. For this, we all have to remain committed and continue striving to protect the most valuable resource we have: our planet. At Cermer, we are committed to a greener and more sustainable future. Let's make it happen.
